I want to do a tour of my plants, a la Jenna Marbles. So here I go.
First up we have the bathroom plants!

These all have a North facing window with full sun. For some reason everyone loves it in here and thrives, especially Alejandro, who I grew from a 1-inch root with a single leaf attached! He’s a string-of-bananas. Then there’s Janis Joplin (yes you have to say her full name every time) who’s a baby string-of-pearls. She’s hanging in there. Kingston II is a bear paw succulent!! My favorite plant!! The first Kingston was a small bear paw who I named after the bassist in Fall Out Boy (Pete Wentz’s middle name is Kingston). This was back in 10th grade, and I couldn’t keep the original alive for crap. Now I’m doing much better with my plant care! Finally there’s Montgomery, or Monty for short. He’s a cool guy. An octopus air plant! Monty lives in a sea urchin and gets his nutrients from the humidity from showers.
Next are my terrariums!

Project 0 was my first terrarium before I even knew what I was doing. It holds some false shamrocks, bird’s nest ferns, and iron cross begonias. This one has been going strong since the beginning, and reminds me to trust myself more.
Love, persisting was a gift from my boyfriend the first time he came to my apartment at the time. I had to move out of that apartment and put a majority of my belongings in a storage unit for 5 months in 2023. This terrarium was in a closed storage bin, in the complete darkness with no resprays, for the entire time. I got it out when I moved into my next house, and one plant was still alive- my bittercress! I then planted a couple friends in there, a lucky bamboo and leatherleaf fern. It’s a reminder to keep going.
Finally I have this group I like to call the biggins! They’re all the biggest plants I have.

Marilyn is a beautiful prayer plant, so I gave her some rose petals and a seashell. She was on sale at my local farmers market
Marty is a dragon plant I rescued from my job who was overwatering him. His name is Marty after the zebra in Madagascar (he’s got stripes)! Beatrice just gave me old lady vibes even though she’s a relatively young golden pothos. But it’s Beatrice. Not Bea, she hates that.
I hope you enjoyed this tour of my plants, I’ll try to update if more fall into my hands!
